Last Saturday night was a first when the Rock Bottom band came to
our Memorial Hall for a grand live Rock & Roll night. The entertainment
was a huge success. The music was great and over £700 was raised
from ticket and bar sales, including a £50 donation from Earl Howe.
50’s Jiving was to Elvis, Fats domino, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis,
among others. With a line dancing session and then a full dance floor
for 60’s hits from Hollies, Beatles, Beach Boys, Stones etc.
Villagers were delighted when a group from the Amersham Jive club,
many in 50’s dress, took to the floor to contribute to the great
atmosphere. This was probably the best night out in the county at
any price. If you missed it you better come next time!
The event was further supported by the new owners of the Potters
Arms who kindly supplied a range of free nibbles.

The Rock Bottom band are a group of retired music enthusiast who
as well as playing at parties and functions specialise in supporting
charities and local causes.
